I am aware that you have checked your JAMB Result. They told me that you beat the UI-JAMB cut off mark, by scoring above 200. This is worthy of celebration. Maybe you didn’t, accept my warm sympathies.

This is but a brief letter from emperor electricalworks
I write to inform you that you still have one or more hurdles ahead of you. And to guide you so that you don’t stumble.

I understand that you have so many questions to ask like;

1. when will University of Ibadan post UTME form be released?
2. how much will the form cost?
3. when the form is out, when will the post UTME hold?
4. how many questions will be asked?
5. how many subject will I take and many more questions.

UI Post UTME Form 2022/2023 is Out| See Eligibility, Date & Requirements

The University of Ibadan (UI) administration has begun the sale of its Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) screening exercise application form for the 2022/2023 academic year.
The UI post-UTME cut-off point is 200, and the application form is Two Thousand Naira (2,000).

UI Post Utme Form 2022

The university website will be open from Thursday,1 December 2022, to Friday, 13 January 2023, for the submission of their bio-data and SSCE/NECO results online.

The deadline for submission of bio-data / O/level results may not be extended. Therefore, any candidate whose bio-data are not submitted within the stipulated time will not be considered for the University of Ibadan (UI) Post-UTME Screening and admission.

UI Post UTME Screening Eligibility

Candidates who have chosen the University of Ibadan (UI), Ibadan, as their institution of the first choice in the last UTME and scored the required cut-off point of 200.

UI Post UTME Screening Exercise Schedule

The date for UI post UTME will be communicated to candidates through their email addresses and SMS. Candidates are therefore advised to provide valid and active email addresses and phone numbers. The University will not take responsibility for the failure to get information as a result of invalid email addresses and functional phone numbers.

How to calculate your aggregate and Cut off ?

Ok it is like this. UI will divide your jamb by 8, then your post UTME by 2 then add it together.
For example, someone with 280 in Jamb and 70 in post utme,
Jamb score, 280/8 = 37.5
Post UTME, 70 / 2 = 35
Aggregate = 37.5 + 35 = 72.5

Now imagine this person is going for Law, Law has a cut off of about 70. By this, the person beat the cut off because his Aggregate is higher than the cut off. But if it is lower, even by 0.1, no Admission for the person for that year

Please note that there are three different cut off marks when it comes to admission process in University of Ibadan.

1. You must score minimum of 200 in JAMB UTME before you would be eligible to write POST UTME.
2. You must score minimum of 50 in UI-POST UTME before you’ll be considered for Admission.
3. The aggregate of your JAMB UTME and UI POST-UTME scores should meet the merit cut off mark for your preferred course of study. Please note that departmental cut off mark is not stable, but influenced by some factors.

There are three different cut off marks when it comes to UI

First. JAMB cut off mark.
You must score minimum of 200 before you’ll be eligible for UI POST UTME
The second one.
UI POST UTME score.
UI POST UTME is divided by 100.
If you don’t score minimum of 50, you won’t be considered for admission.
The third one.
Departmental cut off mark.
This is the aggregate of JAMB UTME and POST-UTME scores.
It is based on the calculation.
JAMB score divided by 8
POST UTME score divided by 2

Will University of Ibadan give me admission if I pass their cut off mark?

If you pass, they’ll give you admission simple as abc and get the right subject combination

Can someone process for any course with 200 and above? Since they don’t have jamb departmental cut off mark.

Yes, but that general cut off mark is a scam in a sense that it only makes u eligible for exams. You can process for any course with 200. But don’t try it. Imagine trying to process A course with Cut off of 75 using 200 in jamb.

Which calendar is faster in UI and Unilorin?

Ilorin is faster, though technically they’re the same because both do two(2) semesters a year but Ilorin calendar is faster

Read the below statistical analysis of the previous year’s Admission:

100%— 63,791 applied for UI in JAMB 2020.

32%— 20,799 managed to score 200 and above.

20%— 12,798 sat for POST UTME.

9.5%— 6,065 scored 50 and above in the POST UTME.

4,261 were offered admission on merit.

6.7% of those that choose UI finally got admitted.

In order words, out of every 15 jambites that wished to attend UI in JAMB 2020— Only 1 person was admitted.This is UI. Where, the mighty men are falling! Big scores are wasting!

How do they calculate their exam score, assuming we’ve been accepted. What mark do they give test, exam, class attendance e.t.c

UI require at least 70% of class attendance before you’re qualify for their exams. Although, some Lecturers aren’t serious with it anyway. But if they should mark attendance you’re not around it tells the lecturer automatically that you’re not serious with your studies. Just imagine your lecturer having such impression about you.

UI would consider your Subject combinations. They’ll check for department/Courses that your Subject combination can enter into. Then they’ll check if there’s admission slots available in those departments after admitting Students on Merit.

UTME AND POST UTME SUBJECTS

For English Language,
Literature in English, and any other from Arts, Social Sciences or Science [Please note that Government and Economics are not Arts subjects]O’level Subjects combination
5 ‘O’ Level Credits at one sitting or 6 ‘O’ Level Credits at 2 sittings to include:

Direct Entry requirements
Two ‘A’ level passes including Government or History.
UTME Requirements
English Language, Government or History plus two other Social Science / Arts subjects

O’level Subjects
5 ‘O’ level subjects at one sitting or 6 ‘O’ level subjects at 2 sittings to include English Language, Government or History and three or four other subjects.
IBADAN requires 5/6 O/L credits in any subject plus at least a pass in Mathematics.

For Psychology
Direct Entry requirements
(1) Two ‘A’ level passes including either Biology, Chemistry, Statistics, Government, Geography, Economics or Mathematics.
(2) UTME requirements plus NRN certificate.
UTME Requirements
English Language and any three subjects.
O’level Requirements
5 ‘O’ level subjects at one sitting or 6 ‘O’ level subjects at 2 sittings to include English Language, and any other four/five from Arts, Social Science or Science.
IBADAN requires TWO ‘A’ level passes from Science or Social Science subjects or Arts.

For English Language
Direct Entry requirements
Two ‘A’ level subjects to include Literature in English.
UTME Requirements
English Language and two Arts subjects including Literature in English and any other one from Arts or Social Sciences.
O’level Requirements
5 ‘O’ level subjects at one sitting or 6 ‘O’ level subjects at two sittings to include: English Language, two Arts subjects including Literature-in-English and any other two or three subjects from Arts, Social Sciences or Science.

For science or engineering courses
Direct Entry requirements
2 ‘A’ level passes in Physics and Biology / Mathematics plus UME requirements.
UTME Requirements
English Language, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology / Mathematics.
O’level Requirements
5 ‘O’ level subjects at one sitting or 6 ‘O’ level subjects at 2 sittings to include English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics with any one of the following subjects as the case may be: Agricultural Science, Further Mathematics, Technical Drawing, Economics, Geography, Metal Work and Wood Work.

1. OND/HND at upper credit level {65%} accepted to 200/300 levels respectively plus UME requirements.
2. Knowledge of Further Mathematics is an advantage for all Engineering courses.

In Unilag, I know that post utme can be done in any tutorial without going to the school… how is it done ui?
In UI you must come to an assigned center. It will be done on Campus or at DLC(distant learning center) around UI.

I had 283 in jamb and I want to study Medicine and Surgery

What’s the way out for someone that does not meet the cut off, for the course he/she intends to study?

In UI( university of Ibadan) what a person should do if he/she didn’t meet up with the required cut off mark. Like for example the cut off mark for medicine and surgery is 78 and the person get like 75( something lower than 78), he/she should change course. Such person might be considered for a less competitive course but it’s not guaranteed. And you cannot do that yourself. It’s automatic. And you don’t have any choice, unless otherwise stated.

Does UI have POST UTME Past Questions?

Yes, there are Past Questions but it doesn’t really portray what you’ll meet in the exam Hall. That’s why, most people who ask this question, would be told that “there’s nothing like that”.

Does UI use O level results to calculate aggregate score?

No, not at all but for qualification alone.
WAEC or NECO won’t be used even If you have A parallel and another comrade get C parallel, UI views you both as the same. Only your UTME and post UTME matters

I scored 215 in jamb and I choose communication and language art but the cut off mark for UI is 200 according to what I saw on google. But later i saw departmental cut off mark to be 230, so I’m confused.Please I want to know if I can gain admission into UI with my score since I passed their general cut-off mark.

Your Post UTME determines if you’ll enter, once you have 200 and above you’re eligible to go for ui as your preferred school! Though the higher your UTME score, the better your chance because it’ll be hard to compete with people with 320+ with your score. I hope you get the point.
Communication and language arts (CLA) is the most competitive course in faculty of ARTS. I’ll advise you work towards getting 75 to 80 because no one can judge the performances this year I heard that the post utme in Ui is over 100. And it is CBT, how many questions per subject?
For communication and language art (also known as Mass communication in other schools) 100 questions will be given to each aspirants per hour. English 25 while the other three are 25 questions each. Let me get this straight in postutme a communication and language art students will be writing;
English – 25 question
Christian religion studies (Crs) 25 question
Literature – 25 question
Government – 25 question.

UI School fees payment

University Ibadan school fees vary from faculty to faculty. Faculty of education school fees for science and technology education department is #28,100 and #10k technology fee for all students regardless of your department. For art and social science, it is #24,100.
